ASUU TO STAGE PROTEST OVER HALF SALARY, UNILORIN ASUU CHAIRMAN CONFIRMS

 

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said it will embark on rallies and declare a lecture free day in protest towards the charge of 1/2 salary.

Moyosore Ajao, chairman of ASUU in the University of Ilorin demonstrated the report. Reacting to this, the Parents underneath the aegis of the National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, said considering the lecturers have persisted from the place they stopped in the 2021/2022 session, they must be paid.

NAPTAN National President, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma, in a announcement said: “The authorities need to do the right thing. They have to pay the lecturers. We all understand that some time has been wasted, however on account that there is an effort to bridge the hole one way or the other, nothing be executed to truncate the system again

“Lecturers and college students would only want to forfeit some vacations and as parents, we don’t favor something to rock the boat again. Parents are searching ahead to their kids finishing their studies and for them to reap the fruits of their labour. The trouble of personality conflict or ego should now not be allowed to push education into some other crisis situation, “he said
